Art Workshops

Summer art workshops

Our summer art workshops first started in 2012 and, ever since, they have been a rather successful summer activity of the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Lemnos every year. They are suitable for children aged from 5 to 12 years old. Our little artists have the chance to create unique works of art using a wide range of materials. They also visit historical sites and museums, and are offered the opportunity to come closer to nature. A few years ago, the children who attended these summer art workshops learnt about the Dadaism movement and then their works were printed in a booklet and recorded to a DVD. View Photos

Pottery Workshops

The pottery courses of the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Lemnos took place from 2016 to 2018 and were addressed to both adults and children who were interested in becoming familiar with clay art. Those who joined the workshops had the opportunity to acquire valuable knowledge about ceramics, the most ancient form of art, which is closely related to the island of Lemnos. They also learnt more about different materials and decorating techniques and created their own works of art. In fact, all participants made beautiful items for practical as well as decorative purposes, which were then displayed in various art exhibitions held on the island. View Photos

Photography Workshops

From 2013 to 2017, the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Lemnos held three-month workshops for all photography lovers. With the guidance of the experienced photographer Mr. Pantelis Pravlis, participants had the chance to discover the art of photography, learn useful tips and techniques, experiment and look at the world from a different angle. Having lessons in the classroom and on location, the students of our photography seminars enriched their experiences and also displayed their photographs in photo exhibitions held by the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Lemnos. One of the most significant ones was an exhibition called “From the Past to the Present”, where visitors had the opportunity to admire numerous photographs taken from the same spot almost 40 years apart, showing how the exact same location has changed over the years.
