Educational Programs

Every year, the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Lemnos welcomes school visits from students of all grades. It conducts educational programs and it is supported by various bodies and organizations, such as the Ministry of Culture, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), the German Federal Foreign Office, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Secretary General of the Aegean and Island Policy, the Prefecture of North Aegean and the Municipality of Lemnos. Through our specially designed educational programs, children are offered the opportunity to become familiar with the Greek and, most importantly, the Lemnian culture and discover elements of their local identity.

Our educational programs center around two main themes:

  1. “Kechayas and the Young Women”, whose aim is to give children the chance to learn more about the traditional costumes of Lemnos.
  2. “Stiches of Tradition”, which is related to the traditional clothing exhibition that the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Lemnos organizes displaying traditional costumes from all around Greece.

Each educational program is adapted according to visitors’ age. There is also the possibility of collaboration with their teachers to enhance children’s educational experience.
