Other Events & Activities
Every year, the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Lemnos holds and participates in various events and activities, fulfilling its social, educational and cultural objectives.
Christmas Events
- December 2019
Groups of children attending our dance courses along with their dance teachers and members of the Board sang Christmas carols to the Mayor of Lemnos and the Metropolitan Bishop. They also visited the hospital and the nursing home in Myrina. Then, the children walked around the whole town singing. They finally end up at the town centre where they met the members of our traditional choir and some of our adult dancers and they all sang various Christmas carols together. View Photos
- For three consecutive years, the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Lemnos organized a special Christmas event-bazaar with live music and a lot of handmade creations by the members of the club.
- December 2017
All members and friends of the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Lemnos who attended the event had the chance to travel the world with their ears thanks to a wonderful performance by Grupetto music group. View Photos - December 2016

After a short talk about the founder of the Lyceum Club of Greek Women, Callirrhoe Siganou-Parren, Mrs Vasilia Thasitou and Mrs Nitsa Dora along with a group of local musicians sang various Greek songs, entertaining the attendees with their beautiful performance. View Photos

Ancient Pentathlon

Supporting the revival of the Ancient Pentathlon, the children of Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Lemnos joined the pentathlon events that took place in Kontopouli, Lemnos. View Photos - July 2017
A group of teenage dancers of the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Lemnos participated in the opening ceremony of the Ancient Pentathlon that was held for the third consecutive year in Lemnos. - July 2015
Embracing the effort made by the Gymnasium of Livadochori so as to revive the Ancient Pentathlon, our teenage dance group took part in the opening ceremony of the pentathlon events. Young athletes from Greece, Italy and Russia participated in the competition. View Photos

- December 2019
The children attending the art courses of the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Lemnos took part in a competition called “I am…How I see myself”, which was held by the Museum of Cycladic Art and was inspired by a bronze mirror found in Cyprus, dating back to 1200-1050 BC. Our adults’ dance group from Kontopouli participated in the inauguration of a new football field in Kontopouli, Lemnos. The event was organized by the Municipality of Lemnos and Pantelis Boubouras Foundation.View Photos

The Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Lemnos organized an event to celebrate Mother’s Day at the Officers’ Mess in Myrina. During this event, the Headteacher of the Lyceum of Myrina, Mrs. Vaso Tzanis, gave a nice speech and special art workshops for children were held, where our little artists created beautiful presents and sang songs at the end of the event. An educational program called “Discover Lemnos” for primary and secondary school students was held by the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Lemnos. Children had the opportunity to visit various places of interest on the island, collect valuable information and do projects. The program was also held in 1996, including a wide range of events, such as:- A folk clothing presentation by the President of the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Lemnos, Mrs. Ourania Vagiakou.
- A speech about the traditional architecture of Lemnos and Imbros, given by architect Mr. G.Giannakis.
- A lecture about “Terra Lemnia” by doctor S.Paximadas.
- A presentation – speech by architect E.Pantelaroudi-Perperidou about the Neoclassical architecture of Lemnos.
- A speech about “The Orlov Revolt and the island of Lemnos” given by engineer Charalampos Karavias.
- A project presentation given by the students who attended the educational program “Discover Lemnos” with the help of archaeologist Olga Matzari. The project was about “Maroula of Lemnos”. Writer Maria Lampadaridou Pothou also participated in the event.
